Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

6th Aldermanic District

N. 6th St. at W. Galena St. (ST211010166):  Pedestrian bridge removal and median modification. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $15,000)

N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. - W. Burleigh St. to W. Auer Ave. (SM495010567): Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $9,000)

12th Aldermanic District

S. 4th St. - W. Orchard St. to W. Lapham Blvd.  (SM495010568): Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $9,000)

Various Aldermanic Districts

General engineering for the underground conduit system facilities in conjunction with the 2001 capital improvement program. (ST280010100) (Underground Conduit Fund - $30,000)

Alterations and adjustments of underground conduit and manholes at various locations. (ST280010300)

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
