This resolution grants a special privilege to QSI Inc. for a portion of front porch steps to encroach into the public right-of-way, at 1415-17 East Brady Street. This work is being done in conjunction with an historic renovation of the building façade.

BODY:
Whereas, QSI Inc. is the owner of the building located at 1415-17 East Brady Street, which is undergoing exterior renovation; and

Whereas, The property is located in the Brady Street Historic District and has been granted a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Milwaukee Historic Preservation Commission for these and other renovations, which include encroachment of front porch steps into the public right-of-way; and

Whereas, Encroachment of the steps into the public right-of-way can only be allowed through the adoption of a special privilege resolution by the Common Council now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that QSI Inc., 1417 East Brady Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202, is hereby granted the following special privilege:

To construct and maintain a portion of one set of front porch steps within the south sidewalk area of East Brady Street abutting the building at 1415-17 East Brady Street. Said steps shall encroach approximately 1 foot into the 13-foot wide sidewalk area of East Brady Street, leaving approximately 12 feet for pedestrian usage.
