Substitute resolution relative to application, funding and expenditure of the Milwaukee Nurse-Family Partnership Program from the University of Wisconsin-School of Medicine and Public Health.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Milwaukee Nurse-Family Partnership Program from the University of Wisconsin-School of Medicine and Public Health in the amount of $149,990. The purpose of the project is to provide an intensive home visit based program which uses Public Health Nurses as the provider of care to first time pregnant women and their children who reside in zip codes 53210 and 53218.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the University of Wisconsin-School of Medicine and Public Health to provide this home visiting program; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/07 to 12/31/07 would cost $149,990 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the University of Wisconsin-School of Medicine and Public Health is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amount for the project titled Milwaukee Nurse-Family Partnership Program:
