This resolution appropriates $10,000 from the Economic Development Committee Fund special purposes account to fund city participation in both the 2007 Regional and International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Conventions in order to facilitate neighborhood retail development in the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The Economic Development Committee Fund is to be used for the purposes of promoting the City’s economic development programs and attracting new industry to the City; and
Whereas, The 2007 State Regional International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention will be held in Madison, Wisconsin on April 24th and 25th, and the 2007 International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 20th to 23rd; and
Whereas, There will be 7 members attending the State Regional Convention and 4 members attending the International Convention; and
Whereas, Contacts made at these conventions may lead to future retail projects in the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The appropriation of $10,000 for attendance and associated costs at both the Regional and International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Conventions will be beneficial to the city; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $10,000 is appropriated from the Economic Development Committee Fund special purpose account, 0001-1310-S123-006300, to a separate Budget Line (Account No. 0001-1910-S123-006300) for attendance at the 2007 Regional and International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Conventions for the purposes outlined herein.
