Analysis
This resolution will result in the acceptance of a donated vacant lot.
Body
Whereas, The Harley Davidson Motor Company owns and wishes to donate to the City of Milwaukee a vacant lot at 3700-02 West McKinley Avenue, which is adjacent to a city-owned, vacant, tax-deed lot; and
Whereas, These lots are located in the Harley Targeted Investment Neighborhood ("TIN"), and part of the TIN plan is to create a neighborhood play area in conjunction with the proposed new residential development; and
Whereas, Once the deed is received for the Harley lot, the lot will be combined with the existing city lot and jurisdiction of said combined lot will be transferred to the Department of Public Works for the neighborhood play area; and
Whereas, The Department of City Development recommends acceptance of the deed to accommodate the Harley TIN plan, contingent upon receiving clear title along with a historical check to assure no potential environmental problems; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said donation is accepted and after acceptance, the jurisdiction of both lots as described herein will be transferred to the Department of Public Works.
