Analysis

This resolution requires Legal Action of Wisconsin to provide an annual report to the Common Council relating to the performance outcomes of its contract to provide legal services to indigent defendants in Municipal Court.

Body

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 171162 was adopted on November 28, 2017, approving the implementation plan for the Counsel for Indigent Court Defendants Special Purpose Account; and

 

Whereas, Appropriate City officials are directed to take the steps necessary to negotiate an agreement between the City and Legal Action of Wisconsin for the provision of legal services to potentially indigent defendants who appear at Municipal Court; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Legal Action of Wisconsin shall provide an annual report to the Common Council relating to the performance outcomes of its contract to provide legal services to indigent defendants in Municipal Court.
