Analysis
This ordinance provides that if any monthly real property tax installment payment made during the months of February through September is short by $10 or less, the payment shall not be deemed delinquent but the shortfall shall be added to and collected with the following month’s installment payment due.

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 19-15-1-c-4 of the city charter is created to read:
19-15. Installment Payments.
1. MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS.
c-4. If any monthly installment payment made during the months of February through September is short by $10 or less, the payment shall not be deemed delinquent but the shortfall shall be added to and collected with the following month’s installment payment due.
Part 2. This charter ordinance shall take effect January 1, 2025, unless, within 60 days of passage and publication, a referendum petition is filed as provided in s. 66.0101(5), Wis. Stats., in which event the ordinance shall take effect January 1, 2025, only if it is submitted to a referendum and approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon.
