Resolution approving a Relocation Plan for spot acquisitions in the Harley Davidson Catalytic Project Area. (Redevelopment Authority)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the adoption of a Relocation Plan prepared pursuant to Chapter 32.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes and in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Commerce guidelines.
Body
Whereas, In Common Council File No. 021140 adopted March 5, 2002, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee (“Council”) approved the acquisition of four privately owned properties in the Harley Davidson Catalytic Project Area by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Authority”); and
Whereas, Acquisition of these properties will result in the displacement of occupants who must be relocated according to Chapter 32.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes; and
Whereas, The Authority cannot proceed with land acquisition activities until it has a State of Wisconsin approved Relocation Plan for the occupants expected to be displaced as required by Chapter 32.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes; and
Whereas, The Relocation Plan has been submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Commerce for approval; and
Whereas, Said Relocation Plan also must be submitted to and approved by the Council as required by Chapter 66.1333(10) of the Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Relocation Plan submitted by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee for the spot acquisitions for the Harley Davidson Catalytic Project, a copy of which is attached to this Council File, is found to:
1. Formulate a feasible method for relocating the occupants to be displaced from areas that are designated for clearance and redevelopment.
2. Assures that suitable relocation sites are available to the occupants to be displaced by project activities.
