Whereas, Jay Unora is an Assistant City Attorney assigned to the Prosecution Division of the City Attorney's Office; and
Whereas, A defendant in a matter prosecuted by Assistant City Attorney Unora filed an ethics complaint against Attorney Unora with the Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility; and
Whereas, The Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility dismissed the complaint against Attorney Unora finding no violation of the Attorneys Rules of Professional Conduct; and
Whereas, Attorney Unora incurred legal fees in the amount of $1,080.45 defending the matter; and
Whereas, The Common Council has discretion to pay those fees under sec. 895.35, Wis. Stats.; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $1,080.45, payable to the order of Hinshaw & Culbertson, in full and final resolution of the attorney's fees incurred by Assistant City Attorney Jay Unora, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No.0001-1490-636506-2631-S118-2001.
