Substitute resolution relative to the change of Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP) policies and procedures.

Analysis

Body

Whereas, The Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP) was established as an alternative way for low-income home owners to rehab their current resident so that building code violations are corrected and also the program enables home owners to remain in their properties; and

Whereas, The Community Block Grant Administration (CBGA) has proposed changes to the present NIP program policies and procedures to enhance the NIP operations as outlined in Attachment A; and

Whereas, The Community Development Committee recommends approval to accept the changes to the NIP program; now therefore, be it

Resolved, That  the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, hereby approves the changes to the NIP program; and, be it

Further Resolved, That CBGA is authorized to implement the NIP changes in the 2004 contracts.
