This substitute resolution appropriates $30,000 from the Common Council Contingent Fund to the Outside Counsel/Expert Witness Fund Special Purpose Account for the purposes of retaining outside counsel Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach, S.C. to study the feasibility of creating a new pension system.
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council in Common Council File No. 971781 appropriated $39,000 from the City Attorney's Outside Counsel/Expert Witness Fund Special Purpose Account for the purpose of funding an amendment to the contract between the City and the law firm of Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach, S.C. authorizing the firm to act as legal consultant and retain an actuarial consultant to establish a new pension plan for City employees; and
Whereas, Billings by Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach, S.C. for outside counsel for the creation of a new pension plan through June of 1998, total $47,442 and are in excess of the appropriation by $ 8,842; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the sum of $30,000 be appropriated from the Contingent Fund (09-910-8000) to the Outside Counsel/Expert Witness Fund Special Purpose Account (01-023-8001) and to the City Attorney's Office Account (01-023-8002) to retain the law firm of Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach, S.C., under the terms of the contract with the City, at a rate of no more than $185.00 per hour, for purposes of development of a new pension plan, such amounts to be expended upon the presentation of invoices f...
