Analysis

Body
Whereas, Gorman and Company issued a check for $25,000 to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (the “Authority”) through their scattered sites development, Century City Homeowners Initiative, LLC, with a closing date of December 30, 2015; and

Whereas, on behalf of the City of Milwaukee, the Authority was asked to be the fiscal agent for the funds with the original funds marked as a “Neighborhood Preparedness Fee” that would fund initiatives by the Century City Triangle Neighborhood Association (“CCTNA”), a neighborhood association that represents residents and other stakeholders in the Century City area; and

To date, the Authority has dispersed $3,800 to the CCTNA for a two-week “Art in the Park” community event that occurred in 2016, whereby the community was provided available resources that promote housing initiatives and green infrastructure projects; and

Whereas, The Authority continues to hold a balance of $21,200 that has been set aside to support additional CCTNA initiatives proposed in the Century City neighborhood; and

Whereas, The Authority wishes to ensure that residents remain informed and engaged in the redevelopment of the Century City neighborhood and believe the best way to accomplish this is to continue to work with neighborhood organizations that have a similar mission; and

Whereas, The CCTNA is in the best position to efficiently and cost-effectively manage the engagement and has requested the NWSCDC act as the fiscal agent for the remaining balance of funds and dispense those funds to CCTNA by entering into a Grant Agreement with the Authority; and
