Title
Resolution relative to the cost participation and installation of traffic control devices in conjunction with the Federal/State Aid paving of South Howell Avenue from East Wilbur Avenue to East Oklahoma Avenue in the 13th and 14th Aldermanic Districts. (Infrastructure Services Division)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install the necessary traffic control facilities in conjunction with a Federal/State Aid highway improvement contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Body
Whereas, The Surface Transportation Program provides cost participation for traffic control improvements in conjunction with the paving of highways located on the Federal/State Aid Highway System; and
Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 950706 adopted on September 27, 1995 authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement for programming and construction of the improvement of South Howell Avenue from East Wilbur Avenue to East Oklahoma Avenue with Federal/State Aid under the Surface Transportation Program; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $ 26,000 for the alteration and upgrading of traffic control signals and the upgrading of traffic control signs; and
Whereas, Twenty percent of the participating costs or $ 5,200 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2003 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320030000; and
Whereas, Eighty percent of the participating project cost or $ 20,800 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2003 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund Project/Grant Number SP032030100; now, therefore, be it
