Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Wisconsin WINS Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Wisconsin WINS Grant project from the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $67,500. The purpose of this project is to reduce the rate at which tobacco retailers sell tobacco products to underage youth.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services to reduce the rate at which tobacco retailers sell tobacco products to underage youth; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 10/01/02 to 09/30/03 would cost $67,500 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2002 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects fund, the following amounts for the project titled Wisconsin WINS Grant:
