Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of 10,000 sets of Milwaukee Brewers baseball cards from the Brewers Charities.  (Police Department)
 
Analysis:      
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of 10,000 sets of Milwaukee Brewers baseball cards from the Brewers Charities, to be used by Department members in the performance of their duties.  
 
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
 
Whereas, Brewers Charities, a charity of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club, has offered to donate 10,000 sets of Milwaukee Brewers baseball cards for use by  the Milwaukee Police Department to share with area youth; and
 
Whereas, These 10,000 sets of Milwaukee Brewers baseball cards will allow the Police Department to promote both of our organizations while positively interacting with children; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of 10,000 sets of Milwaukee Brewers baseball cards from Brewers Charities; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
