Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Wisconsin EMS Funding Assistance Program grant. (Fire Department)
ANLS:
This original resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to apply for, accept and fund a Wisconsin EMS Funding Assistance Program grant (formerly Act 102) from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services in the amount of $35,101 with a city share of $12,551 and a grantor share of $22,550. Grant funds will be used to provide additional medical service supplies and CPR, EMT, and safety training.
BODY:
Whereas, Under the terms of Wisconsin EMS Funding Assistance Program, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services, for additional medical service supplies and training; and

Whereas, It would appear that City involvement in this grant and aid program, and more specifically in a grant and aid project involving additional financial support for emergency medical services would result in the following major benefits to the City:

Additional medical service supplies and funding for continuing education for CPR, EMT, and safety training; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration, Division of Intergovernmental Relations, has determined that operation of this grant project from July 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998 would cost approximately $35,101 of which $22,550 or 64% would be provided by the Grantor; and

Whereas, The local share of this grant project $12,551 or 36% can be provided from the following sources: .nf
