Title

An ordinance relating to the naming of West McAuley Place, in the 4^th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This ordinance repeals Common Council File Number 68-3188, an ordinance establishing the name “West McAuley Place” for a particular roadway constructed under the Marquette Interchange on State of Wisconsin-owned freeway lands as a connecting roadway between North 8^th Street and North 9^th Street, south of West Michigan Street.

Body

Whereas, On March 17, 1970, the Common Council passed File Number 68-3188, an ordinance establishing the name “West McAuley Place” for a particular roadway constructed under the Marquette Interchange contract on State of Wisconsin-owned freeway lands as a connecting roadway between North 8^th Street and North 9^th Street; and

Whereas, Common Council File Number 212003 is a resolution vacating North 8^th Street and North 9^th Street south of West Michigan Street to their termini; and

Whereas, The vacation of these street segments renders West McAuley Place inaccessible and unusable; now, therefore

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1.  Common Council File Number 68-3188 is repealed.
