This resolution provides the necessary authority to resurface by contract: North Jackson Street from East Kilbourn Avenue to East Clybourn Street; North Market Street from East Kilbourn Avenue to East Wells Street; East Mason Street from North Water Street to North Van Buren Street; North Prospect Avenue from East Wisconsin Avenue to East Kilbourn Avenue; West State Street from North Old World Third Street to North 6th Street; and East Wisconsin Avenue from North Cass Street to North Prospect Avenue. _________________________________________________________________
BODY:
Whereas, That asphalt surfacing: North Jackson Street, North Market Street, East Mason Street, North Prospect Avenue, West State Street and East Wisconsin Avenue, all in the 4th Aldermanic District are necessary and in the public interest, and
Whereas, In accordance with the guidelines for the control of capital expenditures, it is necessary to establish a Capital Purpose Subaccount for the said projects; and
Whereas, Funds have been encumbered and thus set aside for the proposed public improvement; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby authorized and directed to proceed to do the above described asphalt resurface by contract, and the City Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to transfer $175,000.00 from account # 31-211-0001 which is available for subaccounts.
