Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to implement a traffic control plan in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to accommodate anticipated traffic diversion on City streets due to reconstruction activity on the Hoan Bridge and I-794 Project in latter 2013 through 2015. The traffic control plan includes safety measures that apply to facilities for motor vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles. The total cost of these measures will be 100% grantor funded.

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be begin Reconstructing the Hoan Bridge and I-794 between approximately the Milwaukee River and the Carferry Drive Interchange in latter 2013 through 2015; and

Whereas, Construction activity on the Hoan Bridge and I-794 is expected to result in the diversion of traffic on the local street system during this project due to lane and ramp closures, temporary ramp installations and reversal of traffic operation on off and on-ramps on the freeway; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation have jointly developed a traffic control plan to accommodate anticipated traffic diversion on City streets due to reconstruction on the Hoan Bridge and I-794 Project; and

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to provide reimbursement of actual costs for necessary services and items provided by the city for temporary local street vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic control measures in conjunction...
