Resolution to vacate a portion of East Conway Street
from South Bay Street to a point east, which is
proposed to be vacated, in the 14th Aldermanic
District. (Department of City Development)

Passage of this resolution will vacate a portion of an
improved street needed for the Lake Parkway freeway
construction.
BODY:
Whereas, A resolution directing a report on the
proposed vacation was presented to the Common Council
of the City of Milwaukee by the City of Milwaukee on
the 7th day of November, 1994 for the vacation of
Parcel No. 221, a public right-of-way area of East
Conway Street, extending from the east line of South
Bay Street to a point 30 feet more or less east to the
Chicago and Northwestern Transportation Company (CNW)
right-of-way line, in the 14th Aldermanic District (17-
323); and
Whereas, A resolution directing a report on the
proposed vacation was passed by the Common Council on
December 20, 1994 under File No. 941116; now,
therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of
Milwaukee that the fee of $218.00 otherwise required to
be paid to the City Treasurer be and hereby is waived,
and the City Treasurer be and hereby is authorized to
waive said fee pursuant to Ordinance 234 of the City of
Milwaukee, passed July 11, 1961; and, be it
Further Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of
Milwaukee that the following described street to-wit:
That part of East Conway Street in the Northeast 1/4 of
Section 9, Township 6 North, Range 22 East, described
as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the
Easterly line of South Bay Street and the north line of
East Conway Street; thence Easterly, along said north
line, 27.76 feet to a point in the Westerly line of the
Wisconsin Department of Transportation right-of-way for
the Lake Parkway; thence Southeasterly, along said
right-of-way line, 67.68 ...
