Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue a city check in the total sum of $600.00 payable to Melanie Colby, 626A East Wright Street, 53212, to reimburse her for vehicle damage; and, be it
Further Resolved, That members have taken testimony from the Police Department and have taken testimony from the claimant. Based on this review, members of the Committee believe it is most cost-effective to compromise and reduce the amount claimed from $2,865.00 to $600.00. This amount would be slightly more than the settlement amount recommended by the City Attorney's Office, which represents an estimated amount of liability for the police vehicle involved. This resolution would release the City from any further liability arising from this incident; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the check is to be delivered upon presentation of a proper release, approved by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Account No. 636505, Fund - 0001, Organization - 1490, Program - 2631, Sub Class - S118.
