Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the funding of installing interim lighting, the installation of permanent lighting improvements and the removal of the interim lighting in the area bounded by North 13th Street to North Plankinton Avenue and West St. Paul Avenue to West Wells Street and adjoining streets in conjunction with Marquette Interchange reconstruction.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install interim lighting, to install permanent lighting improvements and remove interim lighting in the area bounded by North 13th Street to North Plankinton Avenue and West St. Paul Avenue to West Wells Street and adjoining streets in conjunction with the next stage of reconstruction of the Marquette Interchange known as the Core Contract. Funding for the construction of these improvements is to be provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation under the Federally funded State Highway Improvement Program as part of the interchange project.

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is reconstructing the Marquette Interchange of IH94, USH41, IH43, and IH794 under the State Highway Improvement Program; and
Whereas, The Interchange reconstruction project provides cost participation for the installation of interim lighting, the installation of permanent lighting improvements and the removal of the interim lighting; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost of modifications of installing interim lighting, the installation of permanent lighting improvements and the removal of the interim lighting, included as part of this project is $434,399.04; and
Whereas, One hundred percent of the participating cost is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2005 Capital Gra...
