Title

Resolution approving the submission by the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee to the Department of Housing and Urban Development of a disposition application for the sale of vacant land at 2856 North 34th Street and 3125 North 26th Street at Fair Market Value

 

Analysis

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) owns and manages more than 2,300 units of low-rent public housing under the terms of an Annual Contributions Contract with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and

 

WHEREAS, HUD allows Public Housing Authorities to submit Disposition applications to dispose of all or part of public housing structures and land in excess of what is needed to operation efficiently;

 

WHEREAS, the parcels located at 2856 N. 34th St. and 3125 N. 26th St.  exceed the needs of the HACM and its residents; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Secretary-Executive Director recommends approving the submission by the Housing Authority of the Disposition application to remove the .19 acres of vacant land at 2856 N. 34th St. and 3125 N. 26th St.; and, therefore, let it be

 

RESOLVED, that the recommendation to submit the Disposition application to sell 2856 N. 34th St. and 3125 N. 26th St.at Fair Market Value is hereby accepted; and be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary-Executive Director is hereby authorized to take whatever action is necessary to complete the submission of the Disposition application for .19 acres of vacant land at 2856 N. 34th St. and 3125 N. 26th St. and have said properties removed from its inventory.
