Part 1, Section 4 of ordinance File Number 250698 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 7, 2026 - March 15, 2026): Under Pay Range 4ZX, add footnote designation (1) to the title of “Fire Chief” and amend footnote (1) to read: (1) Recruitment may be at any rate in the pay range that is approved by both the Fire and Police Commission and the Chair of the Finance and Personnel Committee. I also move to amend Part 3. of Substitute 1 to change the effective pay period from Pay Period 22, 2025 (October 12, 2025) to Pay Period 7, 2026 (March 15, 2026). Ald. Coggs was excused and left the meeting at 12:45 p.m. Motion failed 1-3.

Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2026 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Fire Department, Police Department

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 4 of ordinance File Number 250698 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 22, 2025 - October 12, 2025):

 

Under Pay Range 4ZX, add footnote designation (1) to the title of “Fire Chief” and amend footnote (1) to read:

 

(1)                     Recruitment may be at any rate in the pay range with the approval of the Fire and Police Commission.

 

Part 2.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 3.  The provisions of Part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 22, 2025 (October 12, 2025).

 

Part 4.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
