Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Beach Study Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Beach Study Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources through the Racine Health Department in the amount of $17,265. The purpose of this funding will be to purchase computer software for the laboratory's bacterial typing equipment to assist in typing E. coli isolates and tracing their source.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources through the Racine Health Department to purchase computer software for the laboratory's bacterial typing equipment to assist in typing E. coli isolates and tracing their source; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 05/01/01 to 04/30/02 would cost $17,265 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within Project/Grant Parent 2001 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled Beach Study Grant:
