Title
Resolution declaring two vacant, tax-deed lots surplus and accepting an Offer to Purchase from the adjoining owner, Glenn Haase, for use as green space, in the 6th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of two vacant, tax-deed lots for use as landscaped green space.
Body
Whereas, Glenn Haase, with his property located at 106-08 West Keefe Avenue, Tax Key No. 273-0922-0, has offered $750 to purchase the vacant, tax-deed lots located at 102-04 West Keefe Avenue, Tax Key No. 273-9211-1, and 3515 North 1st Street, Tax Key No. 273-0921-200-8, for use as green space; and
 
Whereas, Mr. Haase's adjoining property is two duplexes on a 30-foot parcel and the tax-deed lots will be an asset to his property; and
 
Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") recommends acceptance of this Offer contingent upon submittal of a site plan indicating the intended use of the tax-deed lots; and
 
Whereas, DCD recommends sale in an "as is" condition without representations or warranties including but not limited to soil quality and subsurface condition; and
 
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that said lots are surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said lots are declared surplus, that said Offer to Purchase from Glenn Haase is accepted and that the Commissioner of DCD, or assigns, is authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution with the proceeds from the sale, less a 20 percent disposition cost reimbursement to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 0001-334106.
