Analysis
The Department of Public Works (DPW), using existing resources, will implement the 286-CITY citizen request and information line in 2006. This resolution requires explicit Common Council authorization before the Department of Public Works and other city departments implement the line.

Whereas, The Department of Public Works (DPW), using existing resources, proposes to implement the 286-CITY citizen request and information line in 2006, per the 2006 Proposed Budget Plan and Executive Summary; and
Whereas, There has been insufficient consultation and discussion with the Common Council relating to various aspects of this program; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works and other city departments associated with the implementation of the 286-CITY citizen request and information line are directed not to implement the line without explicit Common Council authorization.
