Analysis
This resolution authorizes Ald. Joe Davis, Sr. to attend the National League of Cities meetings and conferences, with funding for costs expended from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account.
Body
Whereas, National League of Cities President James C. Hunt has appointed Ald. Joe Davis, Sr. Vice-Chair of the National League of Cities’ Community and Economic Development Policy and Advocacy Committee; and
Whereas, The Committee develops policy positions and advocates on behalf of the nation’s cities on national issues involving municipal government, including community development block grants, housing and economic development; and
Whereas, Participation on the Steering Committee will require the expenditure of funds for travel, lodging and related expenses; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council authorizes the participation of Ald. Joe Davis, Sr. as a member and Vice-Chair of the National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Policy and Advocacy Committee; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk is authorized to expend funds from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account (Account Number 0001-1310-S123-006300) for travel, lodging and per diem expenses related to Ald. Davis’ attendance and participation at meetings of the National League of Cities’ Community and Economic Development and Advocacy Committee; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the authorized travel and expenditures shall be in accordance with all applicable provisions of s. 350-181 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
