This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to issue an excavation permit allowing the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District to construct new manholes in West Clybourn Street near the intersections of North 14th and North 16th Streets where the pavement is less than three years old.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District plans to construct new manholes in West Clybourn Street near the intersections of North 14th and North 16th Streets; and
Whereas, The planned manhole improvements will require cutting into the pavement of West Clybourn Street, said pavement being less than three years old and under warranty; and
Whereas, The three-year warranty on West Clybourn Street expires in August of 2002; and
Whereas, Waiting until August of 2002 to begin the project could cause unreasonable delays and added expense now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to issue an excavation permit allowing a cut in pavement in the intersections of West Clybourn Street and North 14th and West Clybourn Street and North 16th Street; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the pavement restoration shall be accomplished in accordance with the specifications and restrictions established by the Department of Public Works of the City of Milwaukee; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District shall be responsible for any future defects in the affected pavement sections if such defects can be clearly attributed to the manhole reconstruction wo...
