Analysis
This resolution authorizes the proper City officers to execute a Quit Claim Deed (QCD-2847) document conveying the combined sewers located in vacated North Milwaukee Street between East Lyon Street and North Water Street to USL Land, LLC, in the 3rd Aldermanic District. The sewers are being conveyed because they are no longer needed for public use.
Body
Whereas, In 1954, the City of Milwaukee constructed an 18-inch diameter and a 24-inch diameter combined sewers in North Milwaukee Street; and
 
Whereas, North Milwaukee Street between East Lyon Street and North Water Street was vacated on May 8, 2007 by Resolution No. 060257 and at the request of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee to consolidate lands in this Park East Area; and
 
Whereas, The vacated lands are now part of USL Land, LLC; and
 
Whereas, Due to the vacation of a portion of North Milwaukee Street, the combined sewer no longer serves the public interest; and
 
Whereas, The USL Land, LLC has agreed to accept ownership of said combined sewers; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers, including the DPW Commissioner, are hereby authorized: (i) to sign the Quit Claim Deed document (QCD-2847), in the form and substance submitted to this file (or in substantially the same form and substance as submitted, and to effectuate the intent of this resolution); and (ii) to cause the same to be recorded in the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds Office.
