Resolution to change the status of a 30-foot wide pedestrian way to a public alley in the block bounded by West Center Street, West Fond du Lac Avenue, West Hickory Street, West Monroe Street and North 27th Street, in the 7th Aldermanic District.

Analysis
The site on the southeast corner of West Center Street and North 27th Street is being developed for commercial use. To support this development, a portion of the north-south alley that traversed the site was vacated. To support vehicular traffic within the block, the existing 30-foot wide pedestrian way located between West Fond du Lac Avenue and the remaining segment of the 15-foot alley must be reclassified from pedestrian way to public alley.

Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee purchased for pedestrian way purposes, Lot 24 in Block 4 of Subdivision of Lots 9 and 10 in Williams Subdivision, by Warranty Deed, recorded on October 28, 1966 as Document Number 4286313, Common Council File Number 65-3118-b, adopted on September 30, 1966; and

Whereas, The northerly portion of the northwesterly-southeasterly 15-foot wide alley in said Block 4 was vacated by Common Council File Number 011553, adopted on July 15, 2003; and

Whereas, A new development is proposed for the north end of said block and the change of status from pedestrian way to public alley will support this development and will improve vehicular traffic; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the status of the 30-foot wide pedestrian way be changed to public alley from the following described parcel:
