Substitute resolution regarding water service to Menomonee Falls.

-Analysis-
This resolution authorizes City officials to negotiate and execute a water service agreement with Menomonee Falls.
BODY:
Whereas, The annexation Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Menomonee Falls entered into in July, 1989 requires good faith discussions between the City and the Village for permanent water service to the Village; and
Whereas, Current discussions with Menomonee Falls have reached the point where water service from Milwaukee to Menomonee Falls is practical and viable; and
Whereas, the Annexation Agreement further requires Milwaukee to compensate Menomonee Falls $25,606 annually until the year 2020 unless an agreement for permanent water service is reached, at which time the payments to Menomonee Falls terminate; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a water service agreement with Menomonee Falls using the standard wholesale water service agreement format, and to execute such agreement only after approval of the contract by the Common Council; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the resulting agreement, after approval by the Common Council and proper execution, be submitted to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin for approval.
