This substitute resolution authorizes a payment of up to $15,000 for 50 percent of the cost of acquisition and installation of streetscape improvements along Old World Third Street in downtown Milwaukee. The balance of the cost will be paid by the Old World Third Street Organization, a 501(c)(3) corporation.
BODY:
Whereas, The Old World Third Street Organization is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the betterment of the Old World Third Street area; and
 
Whereas, The Old World Third Street Organization is prepared to spend up to $15,000 to fund 50 percent of the cost of acquiring and installing streetscape improvements throughout their area; and
 
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will benefit from these streetscape improvements by enhancing the pedestrian environment of this historic and popular area; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to enter into a Streetscape Agreement subject to the terms outlined in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer $15,000 from the Downtown Riverfront & Other Downtown Planning and Improvement Fund Account No. PR01880000 to Subaccount No. PR01881200 for the purposes of funding this activity; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Attorney is directed to draft a Streetscape Agreement consistent with the terms outlined in Exhibit A.
