Title

Resolution amending File Number 970233 relating to acceptance and expenditure of private contributions to the Fire Department.

Analysis

This resolution amends File Number 970233 to allow the Fire Department to increase the amount of private contributions from $150,000 to $250,000 for the purpose of maintaining the special teams training programs.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council adopted File Number 941142 on November 29, 1994, a resolution authorizing the Fire Department to accept and expend private donations up to $75,000 for the purpose of maintaining the special teams training programs; and

Whereas, The Common Council adopted File Number 970233 on June 3, 1997, a resolution amending File Number 941142 to permit the Fire Department to accept and expend an additional $75,000 for this purpose; and

Whereas, The Fire Department would like to be able to accept an additional $100,000 in private donations for the purpose of maintaining the special teams training programs; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that File Number 970233 is amended by deleting the amount of "$150,000" in the third "Whereas" clause, in the first "Resolved" clause and the second "Further Resolved" clause and inserting in lieu thereof the amount of "$250,000".
