Minutes note: Ms. Dana Zelazny said this is a composite of three buildings, one with two-stories and two with three-stories. In the 1940s, all three were made two-story buildings. A temporary cladding was applied in 2006 and the facades were removed and the front is now exposed again. Staff recommends approval with the condition to review the temporary cladding.
David Uihlein - 322 E. Michigan St. - owner - this is a temporary solution.
Mr. Williams thought the building could be torn down.
The Commission is willing to grant him a COA for 6 months only to verify that some action s being taken. The owner would like more time than six months. The owner is willing to work with the neighbor for the shared doorway.
Mr. Williams moved for approval with the higher-quality solution and come back by December 31, 2017, seconded by Ms. Pieper Eisenbrown. There were no objections.
