Analysis
This resolution amends common Council File 050372 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services. The purpose of the project is to serve families in need of services related to improving pregnancy outcomes, lowering the rate of infant mortality, enhancing family functions, preventing child abuse and neglect and assuring child readiness in school.

Whereas, Common Council File 050372 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services to serve families in need of services related to improving pregnancy outcomes, lowering the rate of infant mortality, enhancing family functions, preventing child abuse and neglect and assuring child readiness in school. This grant provided for a grantor share of $1,218,128 and City Share of $15,000; and
Whereas, There is no change to the Grantor or City share for this program; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2005 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 040459, should be amended as follows:
Health Department
Maternal and Child Health Division
Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant (E)
Add:
(1) Public Health Educator (X)(E)
; and, be it
Further Resolved, That all standard resolved clauses articulated in Common Council File 050372 remain applicable.
