Substitute resolution effectuating a provision of the 1999 Adopted City Budget relative to certain positions of laborer in the Plants Decision Unit - Water Works.

As provided in the 1999 City Budget, this resolution states that the 1999 City Budget funding for 7.5 FTE laborer positions in Water Works was restored to allow one year for the persons occupying those positions to seek other employment prior to eliminating funding for the positions. The 7.5 FTE restored positions include 4.5 FTE positions of Water Buildings and Grounds Laborer and 3.0 FTE positions of Water Department Laborer in the Plants Decision Unit - Water Works.
BODY:
Whereas, The 1999 Adopted City Budget restored funding for 7.5 FTE laborer positions in Water Works that had been proposed for elimination; and
Whereas, The 1999 Adopted City Budget stated that the funding was restored for one year to allow the affected persons to seek other employment prior to eliminating funding for these positions; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the restored 4.5 FTE positions of Water Buildings and Grounds Laborer and 3.0 FTE positions of Water Department Laborer in the Plants Decision Unit - Water Works are fully funded for 1999 to allow the persons filling those positions to have one year to seek other employment prior to eliminating funding for these positions.
