Substitute motion amending the Common Council Procedure and Rules relating to abolition of the Community Development Committee and creation of a Community and Economic Development Committee.

This motion amends the Common Council Procedure and Rules by:

1.  Abolishing the Community Development and Economic Development Committees.

2.  Creating a new standing committee of the Common Council, Community and Economic Development Committee, which is assigned the current functions of the Community Development and Economic Development Committees.

Body

Part 1.  Article V, Section 1, Subsection 1 of the Common Council Procedure and Rules is repealed and recreated to read:

Article V.  Committees.

Section 1.  Standing Committees.

1.      Community and economic development:

a.      Business improvement districts.

b.      City public relations.

c.      Community development.

d.      Economic development.

e.      Federal enterprise zones.

f.      Industrial land bank.

g.      Industrial revenue bonds.

h.      Job development.

i.      Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation.

j.      Minority and women business enterprises.

k.      Recreation and cultural arts.

L.      State development zones.

m.      Tourism.

Part 2.  Article V, Section 1, Subsection 2 of the Common Council Procedure and Rules is repealed.

Part 3.  Article V, Section 1, Subsections 3 to 8 of the Common Council Procedure and Rules are renumbered Subsections 2 to 7.
