ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund a Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Social Services in the amount of $1,044,235 with a city share of $244,235 and a grantor share of $800,000. The purpose of the project is to support comprehensive and coordinated service delivery to lead-poisoned children.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Social Services for comprehensive and coordinated service delivery to lead-poisoned children; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07/01/97 to 06/30/98 would cost $1,044,235 of which $244,235 (23%) would be provided by the city and $800,000 (77%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Social Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant: .nf
