This resolution authorizes the sale of a vacant, tax deed lot by the City of Milwaukee.
BODY:
Whereas, Said vacant, tax deed lot was declared surplus by Common Council File No. 970983, adopted on November 4, 1997; and

Whereas, File No. 970983 authorized the Department of City Development to advertise said lot for sale as a residential building site; and

Whereas, Said lot was advertised on three occasions and no offers were received; and

Whereas, The adjoining owners, Calvin Greer and Dorothy L. Greer and Fidel Verdin-Williams and Brian Verdin, with their properties located at 2463 North Palmer Street and 2453 North Palmer Street, respectively, have each offered to purchase part of 2455-57 North Palmer Street, Tax Roll Key No. 322-0116-5, for green space for the amount of $1.00 each; and

Whereas, Said lot will be divided to create two equal parcels when added to the adjoining owner's current parcels; and

Whereas, Said lot is being sold in an "as is" condition; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved the acceptance of said Offers, the sale of said lot to be consummated in the manner provided for in the sale of other tax deed lots pursuant to Section 304-49 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said Offers are accepted and that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as may be required to consummate the sale of said lot and that the proceeds be credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 02-211-2700.
