Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Childcare Provider Assistance Program from the Community Coordinated Child Care Agency (4-C’s) in the amount of $44,000. The purpose of the funding is a program that provides health and safety trainings to early childhood care providers serving children ages 0-5 years old.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Community Coordinated Child Care Agency (4-C’s) for a program that provides health and safety training to early childhood care providers serving children; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant program from 01/01/07 to 09/30/07 would cost $44,000 provided entirely by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 2007 Childcare Provider Assistance Program:
