Analysis
This resolution authorizes settlement of the federal District Court action captioned Colorez, et al. v. City of Milwaukee, Case No. 98-C-1195 (E.D. Wis.), through approval of the settlement agreement negotiated by the parties, captioned "Final Settlement Agreement," which agreement is annexed to the file for this resolution. A separate resolution authorizing and directing the proper City officers to issue payments in accordance with the terms of the Final Settlement Agreement will follow.

Whereas, The plaintiffs in federal District Court case number 98-C-1195 have agreed to settlement of this case in accordance with the terms of a Final Settlement Agreement, and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it is expeditious and just to settle this lawsuit, and now therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the "Final Settlement Agreement" settling case number 98-C-1195 is hereby approved, that the City Attorney is hereby directed to submit the Stipulation and Order for Judgment included as Attachment B to the Final Settlement Agreement to the Court, and that the City Attorney is requested to prepare for introduction as a separate file a Common Council resolution authorizing and directing the proper City officers to issue payments as set forth in the Final Settlement Agreement upon notification from the City Attorney of dismissal of the case.
