Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to issue a permit for occupancy of the northern two thirds of West Chambers Street between North 49th Street and a point approximately midway between North 50th and North 51st Streets during construction of the hospital's new women and infant services addition. Occupancy would be from April 1, 2002 until June 30, 2003. The street area would be used for construction staging.

Body
Whereas, Hunzinger Construction Company has been hired by St. Joseph's Hospital to construct a new women and infant service addition to the hospital located at 5000 West Chambers Street; and

Whereas, The hospital is committed to building within the confines of its present site; and

Whereas, Construction of the planned addition of the existing hospital site will require certain staging and construction activities to spill over into the adjacent Chambers Street right-of-way; and

Whereas, The project is expected to last from April 1, 2002 until June 30,2003; and

Whereas, Hunzinger has requested permission to occupy approximately two thirds of the Chambers Street right-of-way between North 49th Street and a point roughly midway between North 50th and North 51st Streets during this time frame; and

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to issue a permit for temporary occupancy of up to on-third of public rights-of-way while temporary use beyond that must be approved by the Common Council; and
