Substitute resolution relating to legislative bills.
BODY:
Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following position on the bills hereinafter listed and the Common Council being advised of said matters; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it hereby opposes the following legislative bill and instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committees to oppose this bill and use its best endeavors to have them not enacted into law, viz:
--- SB-93 Going armed with weapons, possessing or transporting a firearm, bow, or crossbow under certain circumstances, disorderly conduct limitation, and electric weapons. (Constitutional)
; and, be it
Further resolved, that the Common Council takes no position with respect to SB-90/AB-126 (Carrying a concealed weapon; licenses authorizing persons to carry concealed weapons; possessing or transporting a firearm, bow, or crossbow under certain circumstances; disorderly conduct limitations; photographic identification cards for former law enforcement officers; providing an exemption from emergency rule procedures; requiring the exercise of rule-making authority making appropriations; and providing penalties), but directs City lobbying staff to seek those changes to the bill enumerated by the Judiciary and Legislation Committee and the Chief of the Police Department.
