Title
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Brico Fund's Donor-Advised Fund at Fidelity Charitable Giving Grant in support of the Environmental Collaboration Office’s Water Centric City initiative.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Environmental Collaboration Office to accept and fund a Donor-Advised Fund at Fidelity Charitable Giving Grant from the Brico Fund in the amount of $45,000 with a grantor share of $45,000 and a city share of $0. The purpose of this grant is to support Milwaukee’s efforts to be a global leader in the adoption of new water technologies, and further accentuate and protect Milwaukee's natural water resources to bolster its civic identity.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Brico Fund; and

Whereas, The Refresh Milwaukee sustainability plan contains a goal to “Establish Milwaukee as America’s Water Centric-City”; and

Whereas, The grant will allow the City to continue its participation in the UN Global Compact Cities Programme and other opportunities to demonstrate global leadership in sustainable water management; and

Whereas, The City will work with the UWM School of Freshwater Sciences and other local universities to create meaningful internship opportunities that advance sustainable water policy and practices for Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 01/01/2018 to 12/31/2018 would cost $45,000 of which $45,000 (100%) would be provided by the grantor share and $0 (0%) would be provided by the city; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Environmental Collaboration Office shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
