This resolution will facilitate the redevelopment of the largest and most underutilized mixed-use commercial property within the 2200 block of South Kinnickinnic Avenue. Specifically, this resolution will authorize a Site Improvement Grant Agreement, not to exceed $6,442, for the upgrade of the water service at 2234-2238 South Kinnickinnic Avenue.
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee directed the Department of City Development ("DCD") to design and implement activities to spur revitalization of commercial districts in Milwaukee's older neighborhoods; and
Whereas, The property located at 2234-2238 South Kinnickinnic Avenue is a strategic mixed-use commercial property located within the neighborhood commercial district of South Kinnickinnic Avenue; and
Whereas, The owner, Ada Duffey, has committed to redeveloping the property with commercial space on the first floor and residential units on the second and third floors of the building; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee desires to leverage this private investment and foster the redevelopment of this property; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to enter into a Site Improvement Grant Agreement with Ada Duffey, for the cost of a water service upgrade at 2234-2238 South Kinnickinnic Avenue, not to exceed $6,442, under the terms and conditions outlined in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer $6,442 from Bond Account No. 9990-UR03390000 to Parent Account No. 1910-UR03390000 for the purpose of funding this activ...
