Title
Resolution permitting a minor modification to the Detailed Planned Development (DPD) known as Walton's Calumet Square, located at 7701 West Calumet Road, in the 9th Aldermanic District. (DCD)
Analysis
This resolution will allow for updating the prototypical main wall signs and installation of an additional ancillary wall sign describing the services of the store on the front facade of the building.
Body
Whereas, Section 295-814(5) of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances permits modifications to planned developments after approval of the Common Council; and
Whereas, The third amendment to the detailed plan for a planned development known as Walton's Calumet Square was approved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee on August 1, 2002, under File No. 020154 to allow for the expansion of the existing Sam's Club building for liquor sales that included new wall signs designating the liquor area; and
Whereas, The owner proposes to update the current wall signs designating “Sam's Club” with their new prototypical design and install an additional ancillary wall sign on the front facade in conjunction with the construction of the liquor store expansion area; and
Whereas, The proposed signage is consistent with the spirit and intent of the approved detailed plan, will not adversely affect surrounding development and a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File as Exhibit A which is on file in the office of the City Clerk and made a part as though fully set forth herein; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the minor modification to allow for updating the prototypical main wall signs and installation of an additional ancillary wall sign describing the services of the store on the front facade of the building that was not previously approved as part of the Amended Detailed Planned Development is approved.
