Body
Whereas, the claimant, Pang Thao, has filed a claim against the City of Milwaukee in the amount of $10,000.00 through their home owner’s insurance, arising from damages to a sanitary sewer lateral causing flooding and sewage backup on July 31, 2025;
Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $10,000.00, payable to West Bend Mutual Insurance Company, Claim# AS41218, 1900 South 18th Ave, West Bend, WI 53095 the order of as soon as practicable; and so be it
Further Resolved, that in compliance with the City Attorney’s direction, the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a check, as soon as practicable, in full and final settlement of all claims arising from damage to a sanitary sewer lateral, to be charged as follows: to WATER DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT - 636506-Fund No. 0411-Organization 6411 -Program 2631-Sub class R643, and so be it
Further Resolved, that for and in consideration of the above-referenced payments, the claimant, by their representative(s) and/or attorney(s), will provide the city a release of any and all claims arising out of or in any way related to this incident.
