This resolution will vacate a dead-end alley extending West from South 7th Street.
BODY:
Whereas, A resolution directing a report on the proposed vacation was presented to the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee on November 7, 1995 for the vacation of the alley in the block bounded by West Layton Avenue, West Carpenter Avenue, South 7th Street and South 10th Street, in the 13th Aldermanic District; and

Whereas, A resolution directing a report on the proposed vacation was passed by the Common Council on November 28, 1995 under File No. 951053; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the fee of $218.00 otherwise required to be paid to the City Treasurer is waived, and the City Treasurer is authorized to waive said fee pursuant to Ordinance 234 of the City of Milwaukee, passed July 11, 1961; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the following described alley in the block bounded by West Layton Avenue, West Carpenter Avenue, South 7th Street and South 10th Street, described as follows:

All of the East-West 20-foot wide alley, as platted in Block 2 of Greenwood Park, a recorded subdivision, in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 29, Township 6 North, Range 22 East, lying between the West line of South 7th Street extended and the West line of said subdivision is vacated for the reason that it provides no public utility and it is in the public interest to be vacated; and, be it

Further Resolved, That as provided by Section 80.32(4) of the Wisconsin Statutes, such vacation shall not terminate the easements and rights incidental thereto acquired by or belonging to any county, town, village or city, or to any utility or person in any undergro...
