Title
Resolution relating to the repaving of North 92nd Street between West Capitol Drive and West Hampton Avenue.
Analysis
This resolution directs the Department of Public Works to undertake and complete, prior to December 31, 2014, the repaving (asphalt grinding and resurfacing) of the northbound lanes of North 92nd Street between West Capitol Drive and West Hampton Avenue using funds available in the 2014 City Budget.

The resolution also directs the Commissioner of Public Works to negotiate with the City of Wauwatosa for the City of Wauwatosa to repave (asphalt grinding and resurfacing) the southbound lanes of this segment of North 92nd Street or to provide the necessary funding in its 2015 budget for reimbursing the City of Milwaukee to do this work.

Whereas, North 92nd Street is a major thoroughfare serving neighborhoods of the Northwest and West Sides of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, North 92nd Street between West Capitol Drive and West Hampton Avenue is in a deplorable state of advanced deterioration, characterized by rutting, alligator cracking, joint raveling, potholes and patching; and
Whereas, This street segment was last resurfaced in 1984; and
Whereas, North 92nd Street between West Capitol Drive and West Hampton Avenue has a Pavement Quality Index of 2.0 (on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the worst); and
Whereas, The poor condition of North 92nd Street is detrimental to property values along the street and gives a bad impression of the neighborhood and the city to motorists using it; and
Whereas, This street has been scheduled for reconstruction for many years, with funding expected to come from the State of Wisconsin’s Surface Transportation Program (“STP”); and
Whereas, Reconstruction of this stretch of North 92nd Street has been delayed for several years, leading to further deterioration of the pavement; and
